Lerwick, Scotland — Young boys take part in a Viking procession during the annual Up Helly Aa festival in Scotland’s Shetland Islands. Up Helly Aa celebrates the influence of the Vikings in the Shetlands and culminates with up to 1,000 “guizers” (men in costume) throwing flaming torches into a Viking longboat to set it afire later in the evening.
look at these adorables!
self.
not exactly the best place for a picture in these clothes, but as long as it’s raining cats and dogs outside I don’t have a better background.
I found out an intresting thing about a Norse engagement ceremony. So me and my fiancé shall do it somewhen :)
Vodka, no more feeling bad
Vodka, your eyes are shining
Vodka, you are the real MAN
Vodka, wipes away your tears
Vodka, removes your fears
Vodka, everyone is gorgeous
Vodka, yeah vodka

Keep in mind that I come at things from a pretty heavy recon and worldview based perspective, and given the nature of this particular shitstorm I should probably state that this is just the way I do things, not the way I think everyone ought to do them.
There. Disclaimer…
Vallhalla! The beautiful kingdom of the Einharjars and the Aesir. (Einharjars is the people who died in war or died as a bard who have come to Asgard to fight when the “end” or ragnarok comes).
It’s said that the gate to Valhalla is so big, that a thousand men can enter on the same time. When you are in Valhalla, you can eat and drink as much as you want. You can also get out fighting, and if you die out there, you get back to the entrance of Valhalla. You’re pretty much immortal till the end days comes.
